Resumen The severe pitting, deep hole with loss granular material, biological and black crust, and other processes of degradation exist from last centuries in Cubans constructions and monuments. In the last fifty years, the exponential increase of these processes generates restlessness between researchers of different sciences. The problems of materials degradation are common to the vast majority of restoration works. This research establishes the relationship between deterioration processes and environmental factors based on the study of the most important stone monuments of Havana. The research analyzes the environmental factors, pathological processes, and interrelation between them. Havana’s Historical Centre is the study area, Cultural Patrimony of Humanity from the Eighties of last century. The paper shows the methodology used to determine the environment incidence in the buildings pathology.
