Resumen Since November 2019, the SARS-CoV-2 virus appeared for the first time in people. Currently, there have been millions of contagions, some ending in deceases. The application of vaccines seemed to reduce the number of victims; however, the mutations of the virus have generated new peaks of infections. This document integrates data from various sources to establishing an index of contagions and deceases by calculating the number of affectations respect to the size of the population of each country. The obtained results indicate that a country in South America is the most affected by deceases, despite the fact that the countries with the highest number of contagions belong to Europe. The study aims to identify the sites of greatest contagions in order to guide further studies to help decision makers. © 2023, Associacao Iberica de Sistemas e Tecnologias de Informacao.
