In the present work, a converter from elevation GIS technologies to virtual reality environment (CEGT) is designed. It improves the visual mechanism and the decisions making related to 3D spatial data in GIS. Using this application the final users can make conversions from raster data to virtual environments and generate navigation scenes in either an automatic or a manual way, achieving to visualize different perspectives of the study area. To complement the spatial analysis, the vector format layers can be overlaid on the virtual scenes. The Elevation Semantic Analyzer (ESA) is designed and implemented to make the conversion process. The application is operated at a web site, in which the final users can make operations related to conversion and spatial analysis in the Internet. |
